Being a significant and trustworthy local heat producer in the region of Zagłębie Dąbrowskie, the BĘDZIN Sp. z o.o. CHP Plant is very much aware of the obligation to provide reliable, environmentally-friendly supply of heat for the inhabitants of Sosnowiec, Czeladź and Będzin within the next several years.

Accordingly, BĘDZIN Sp. z o.o. has prepared an investment program project, whose sole purpose is to improve the efficiency of electricity and heat production, as well as adjusting the production equipment to the requirements of the EU Parliament and Council Directive 2010/75/EU dated 24 November 2010 on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control) the so-called IED Directive, introducing new emission standards for SOx, NOx and particulates, which will apply from 1 January 2016, as well as the National Transition Plan, based on Article 32 of the IED Directive.

The project involves the construction of flue gas desulphurization installations and the construction of flue gas denitrification system that will allow for the operation of BĘDZIN Sp. z o.o. CHP Plant and enable it to keep the emission level of SOx below 130 mg/Nm3, particulates below 15 mg/Nm3 and NOx below 180 mg/Nm3. The project realization schedule assumes the implementation of investments in this regard in the years 2014-2017.
